How to play Mega Millions Lottery

Mega Millions is as easy as choosing five numbers (1 to 70) and one Mega Ball (1 to 25). You have two options: you can choose your numbers, or you can opt for Quick Pick to have a random line generated. You can also choose the same numbers up to 26 times in advance. You pay $2 per line to play the game.

To add the Megaplier to a ticket, you can pay an additional $1. Each Mega Millions draw will randomly select a Megaplier number, which can be either 2x, 3x 4, 4x, or 5x. Any non-jackpot prizes you win will be multiplied with that number. Megaplier can only be played if you have already entered the Mega Millions main draw.

You can ask your retailer for a second ticket if you have not played within the last 30 days. In this case, you will receive an identical entry to the next drawing.

The mechanical ball machine randomly selects the winning numbers for each draw. Five white balls ranging from 1 to 70 are drawn first. Then, one gold Mega Ball, ranging from 1 to 25, is drawn from a separate group of numbers. It is possible to have the same number appear in both the main ball and Mega Ball. Independent auditors monitor the process and broadcast it on TV and online.
